is it okay for christians to curse? Options

some of my Christian friends curse and say that it isn`t forbidden in the Bible or anything..... ?????

Okay. I'm really glad this topic came up cause this is one of the few things I know about...

Firstly, the Bible talks about certain things, for instance, dung. If you look at the old translations you will see that word is actually, in today's culture, a profane word.

A curse word, for instance 'ass', is wrong when we take it in the wrong context. If we call some one an ass, we are being demeaning and it's used in a derrogitory way. If I was to say that 'I have to wipe my ass. :)' I would not being using the word in the derrogatory sense.

If I was to say f**k in the wrong sense, then it would be wrong because it is derrogatory. If I was to say that 'I am going to f**k', then I would be using it correctly and therefore not wrong.

Who knows. Jesus could have used some of these words. It doesn't say He didn't.

But this is the logical way of thinking about it.

Did you know 'SHIT' actually stands for 'Ship Higher In Transit.' ??? Because some of the cargo on the ships were being mixed with manure accidentally. Ha. Learn something new everyday.

Also, about taking God's name in vain....That's a hard subject for me. I will never say God damnit unless I'm using it in a sentence like this one. So basically lets say I really hated someone and said to them: "You are a f*cking retard" that would be wrong in god's eyes therefore sinning but if I said the curse word just to say it such like this - "F*ck, I can't believe I forgot" then it's okay? Cause if that's what your saying I TOTALLY agree.

I see what you mean =] The only person in real life that I really cuss around is my boyfriend, he also cusses so it doesn't offend him. I do it online but not constantly. I don't know there just words to me and mean nothing except of course using God's name in vain...I did that last night...I automatically was like - "Gosh d*m" lol...

I thought cursing and cussing were the same thing only put differently?

But you don't just believe God to be saved.

I'm sorry but your making no sense to me! What are you talking about and what does it have to do with what I said? I'm confused I already know that hun...what get's you saved is believing in God, believing that Jesus died on the cross for your sins and that Jesus is the son of God and accepting Jesus into your heart and life. That is what gets you saved. But cussing or living by God's laws is not what gets you saved. The laws and sins are there to show us how dirty we are so we look to the Lord to get saved...we ask for his help. I watched this on a video once by a show called - "The Way of The Master", the episode was titled - "Hell's Best Kept Secret" it's on Myspace under "Hells Best Kept Secret" if you want to look it up. It's pretty interesting. Plus, like I said it states that it's NOT the laws you abide by that get you saved or the fact you don't sin it's you accepting Jesus and admitting you need to be saved.
