A little lengthy, but....
Me and an old ex got back together recently. I feel bad because I broke it off the first time, for really no reason I can recall. It was just summer and I didn't want a relationship. Now we're back together and things seem fine. He's really sweet to me, but it's a little awkward on my behalf. I know I'm never going to get into anything serious with this boy and now that I'm able to have some closure, I realize I'm not really that emotionally attached to him. I know he feels differently, is hoping for there to be more in the future, and he loves me... I feel like I'm kind of leading him on...Don't get me wrong, I like him, but I just want things to be slow and casual. Holding hands, pecks, someone to talk to. Nothing more and not anything more in the future. I like the attention and the fact someone cares, but I want to keep my space and independence. I'm not sure if I should just let things be or if I should do something since I know I don't see us having a future (plus, I probably won't give him the attention he wants back). I don't know. Any advice? |

If you don't feel it, then let him go. If you keep him hanging on youe every word, you'll only break his heart so much worse later on.
Maybe you should tell him that you just want to take everything slow, not so serious. Let him know you want to just date, since that's what you want to do, right? Not really see other people at the moment? That is completely understandable. You're young, and you're smart enough to know that you don't want to rush into anything. Just keep it casual and fun, like you said. Good luck
