Hah, your first attempt looks a lot like the first attempt I'm making at the moment.
I love the header, its so cute. I always loved those pictures, where did you find them? Because I could never find them, which was sad. I like the layout though, I feel like there should be a soft blue somewhere on it somewhere though..  or just some more colors then black and white..
