help with 2 layouts Options

I have two layouts, which one is better of the two and what improvements can i make to make either one of these better. I feel like I could do more, I'm not getting good ratings on the first site, I havent posted the second (on yoursite.com) so please lemme know what you think! I value you guys judgement!

This needs to be moved to website showcase, I'm sure someone will move it eventually

First: I really like the colors on this layout. I think it really does need some improvement though. I think you could change the layout perhaps? I mean I suppose you could use the same graphics but your layout makes me think of blogger for some odd reason. Or maybe it was livejournal

Second: Wow the colors and graphics look great on this one, but the layout is exactly the same maybe change the layout some.

Also at the bottom of the layout you may want to fix this tiny problem:


To get more traffic perhaps go and subscribe to a few top site websites, I'm sure that may help. Other than that, keep the graphics and perhaps try and make a new layout set up.
