first breakup, and it wasn't bad Options

so, me and my boyfriend broke up tonight. he was my first bf, but we only went out for 5 weeks. i certainly wasn't in love with him, and i don't feel at all sad. i knew it was coming. in the car on the way home he just blurts out, "i think we should just be friends" and i said, "yeah, i've been thinking the same thing" - which is true. he said he wants to still be friends and hang out though. but we'll see.

just wondering - how was YOUR first breakup? not bad at all, or horrible? are you two still friends?

It was really rough - a little after a year of being together, he wanted "space". That lasted a few weeks, and then things started to pick back up. Two days before Valentines, he dumps me completely... right when I thought we were better than ever. Obviously we weren't. I was a wreck for weeks... cried myself to sleep for over a month. We still talked everyday, which made it that much harder. Eventually, I grew to learn that I deserved better and I got over him. He wanted to get back together at that time, but he was just too late. Tomorrow will be one year since we've been seperated, and we're both in relationships now, happier than we've ever been. We talk like once a month just to check up and see how each other's doing, trying to stay friends after being through so much.
