Whats the most amount of weight you've ever managed to lose? And, how did you manage to do it?
Hopefully this will help give people who need to lose weight ideas... and save time by finding something that'll actually work! ![]() I'm actually in need of losing more weight... I lost 40 pounds between June - October, but I've been stuck ever since then. I lost mine by replacing all my meals with Lean Cuisines. And with everything else, just watched the calories. I'm eating the exact same way I did before, but nothings happening. I need to lose 10 - 15 more. ![]() |

I managed to loose about 45 pounds.
Between end of January last year til about July or August. lost another 5 pounds between September and November. I started exercising, running alot, taebo. Weights, but mostly a lot of cardio and running. Completely changed my diet. Cut out soda, white bread, pasta, and as much sugar as I could. Started eating more salads, drinking more water, fruits, and veggies. I've slacked off this past month or two and probably gained 6 pounds of it back. But now i'm back to exercising everyday and eating really strict again, so it'll come off again soon. =) As for more on my diet. I ate perhaps 1 or 2 egg whites a day or everyother day. A handful of nuts for the good fat and protein I needed. Lean meats such as Chicken and Salmon. I tried to eat as much organic fruits and vegetables as possible. Really read the back of labels and understood how big a serving size is. Tried to cut out processed foods. Not eat so many crackers, cereals, breads, pastas. . .empty calorie stuff. If I needed to have some, then I'd just be smart. stick to whole grains. . . whole grain rice, whole grain pasta every so often. TRY to skip out on chocolate which is hard. And just ate smarter. Exercise. . . started running about 1 mile. Now i'm about up to 4 miles. atleast 5 times a week. Did Taebo maybe 3 times a week. Worked out with weights 2-3 times a week. Took Ballet class for a while. I go to the gym now, and just started Spinning and Treading classes, they are fantastic and really push you. But just so you know, I lost all that weight before going to the gym, so you don't need to join one to loose weight. It really centered on all that running I did. Did about 15 minutes of abs a day as well. Just keep moving, lol. |

What about dairy products? How many calories do you think you consumed a day? Oh, and did you cut out meat too? I think most meat is pretty fattening. Is the extra protein really needed? Eeek, excersize? Ahhh I'm so lazy. But that really gives me the motivation to start running! |

But that really gives me the motivation to start running! Weight wise, eating organic fruits probably didn't change much then eating regular fruits. But in Organic fruits they don't spray them with chemicals and toxins. So the fruit is fresh, and your body doesn't get poisoned from it. So that was the reason why I ate organic. And when your body is healthier, it has any easier time mainting metabolism and everything. [Plus the organic fruits taste better, lol]. As for dairy products. . . I stayed away from those. I didn't drink milk or anything, and if I had to have milk or something the I got soy milk [The brand Rice Dream actually tastes really good, and i prefer the taste over regular milk]. You gain a good amount of calories from cheese and stuff. When I first started loosing weight, i would alter my diet in sandwhiches by switching to whole grain bread and without adding any cheese. It helps. Again, the only thing I eat now is egg whites. And only 1 or 2 a day max, as far as "dairy" products go. Yes, I cut out red meat. It is pretty fattening, and not very healthy for you either. I cut out burgers, coldcuts, pepperoni, all that stuff. It has a lot of fat and is hard on your digestive system. Your body does need protein, but there are other ways to get it. I didn't cut out chicken or fish, and i got my protein from that. Also, eating a handful of nuts a day is helpful, It's got a significant amount of protein. But as for the chicken and fish, it helps if it's organic so there aren't any chemicals or toxins in it, but when you are first starting off, it's okay to eat whatever. However, remember to eat it in small enough portions. Your body does need protein, but there are smarter ways to get it then eating red meat, you know? and yeah exercise is crazy. but start off slowly, and build up. even 10-15 minutes a day of running or some sort of cardio is great for you. |

Just to compare, when you were dieting, what was your calorie intake? When I lost most of my weight, I was eating anywhere from 500 - 1000 a day... but sometimes less. But I didnt excersize hardly at all... but with excersize, I'm guessing it would be best to have a little more calories? |
