Ah, the responsibilities and blisses of parenthood.
If or when you become one, how good of a parent do you think you'll be? |

I think I'd do okay. My biggest obstacle would be the fact that I would feel like I was losing my independence. I've been through a lot in my life, which I think would contribute to the way I would treat my child. I would do basic things to ensure their safety, hygiene, good values, etc. But I'd also be there for them. I wouldn't be overbearring in an authoritarian way; but I wouldn't want to overindulge my children (hence the good values). I would want them to know what it's like to earn things rather than have them given to them (in a material sense). With my history with my father, I know what not to do.
I would encourage their goals and dreams, but make sure that they accomplished them by themselves. I think it's important to feed and support their creativity and interests. Whether my future child(ren) want to be an astronaut or teacher I'd do all I could to help them achieve that. I don't mean to sound overly cheesey, but it's hard for me to sum up my thoughts. [I'm too young to be expected to know what to expect, hah] So excuuuuuse me ![]() |
