Being black..., ...Is no excuse for failing. Options

Listen, I'm not racist. I'm just bringing up a topic that I know is on alot of people's minds.

Everynow and then I see these movies, or whatever...people saying that black people can't get anywhere in life because they are lazy, or because they are black they can't get anywhere in life.

I was sitting infront of Jeremy's house waiting for him to answer his friggin door. I was thinking about Albany(Where I live for the most part) and how it's just run down. Most of the people that live there are black.

I was thinking about how I see all this crap about how black people always say they might as well as just give up and deal with what they got. In movies, or even in real life. It pisses me off because the color of your skin does not affect your brain at all. It's an excuse and not a reason...

...if it was a reason then every black person would be in poverty. Is this not true? And you can't blame it on your environment because there have been many black people who have over come it. So, why do some black people just give up and don't try to succeed?

I know not only black people do it, but I'm just bringing this one up first. I'll talk about white people some other time just to be fair.

Yeah, and who was he bullied by? Wait, who did this kid kill and injure?? He probably killed and injured a bunch of those gansta' rap listening jerks who were dicks to him day after day... Within the articles of the website you gave it does say he was bullied around...

Also, the articles you gave are stating that "violent" music definitely played a part in the shooting.

Oh, the whole thing about video games... ok, violent video games... Name a few of the violent video games out there that actually influence people to murder?

• Saints Row - Xbox 360
• Def Jam Vendettta - Xbox, PS2, GC
• The GTA series - Xbox, Xbox 360, PS2
• True Crimes: Steets of LA - Xbox, PS2, GC

All of these games influence people to murder and kill while listening to the hit singles of their favorite rap "artist". Even the most violent video games use this type of music/trash to influence murder. Many of them are full of racial slurrs too. It's this whole gangster life style peice of bulls shit that's being forced down the throats of American youth. It's not the games...

Imagine a 3 circle venn diagram with the circles being society, media, and upbringing, and the space they all occupy being the person. They all contribute to creating the whole, but cannot be individually held responsible for the actions a person commits. He said he didn't know he just had to because there was no other way...he kept stating he's hearing voices in his head...ect...another game people were discussing that influences violence is DOOM.

I should have gotten rid of the part about "Who did he kill"... by the way, the article only says:
He killed:

• His Parents
• 2 Kids at School

He injured:

• 25 people in the school

I read it and know who was killed, I guess what I'm saying is...

• Were those kids that "bullied" him and pushed him to the edge gangsta' pricks?
• Do you really think video games like DOOM did it?

If they were blaming it on games like GTA or True Crimes: Streets of LA then I might be inclined to agree with you. These games allow for the user to partake in mindless virtual serial killing "fun" while listening to their favorite gangsta' rap and racial slurs from nigger to spic. RockStar's new game Bully actually occurs in a school a school setting. If you were talking about these games I might agree with you..
Doom is:

• Not about senseless murdering. Its about killing demons from hell, not civilians.
• Extremely unrealistic (Guns, Gore, etc...)

Anyways, video games aren't the what we're talking about here... I think you should create a topic for this though. It might be an interesting debate.

Hypothesis:
Teens who spend more time watching the sex and violence depicted in the "reel" life of "gangsta" rap music videos are more likely to practice these behaviors in real life.

Experiment:
Take 522 teenage black females from some less fortunate neighborhoods and compare behaviors of the ones who listened to gangsta' rap often with the ones who rarely listen to gangsa' rap for one full year.

Conclusion:

• Three times more likely to hit a teacher
  
• Over 2.5 times more likely to get arrested
  
• Twice as likely to have multiple sexual partners
  
• 1.5 times more likely to get a sexually transmitted disease, use drugs, or drink alcohol.

Just more evidence that suggests rap music is f**king up American youth... *sigh*

I don't think they know why he did what he did, since he kept saying - "I don't know" me personally, I don't think it was video games that influenced him I think he was just screwed up in the head or he really was bullied...depression could be another result since depression affects so many people world-wide and different people react differently to it. who knows.

If you've read my other posts you would know I'm one of the few people that was stating that doesn't believe video games or movies promote violence...I don't...I think every person has there own brain and how they react to things, they know right from wrong...ect..

He may have only killed 2 kids and injured quite a few but it's still violence and it was still committed and if I remember correctly he also got like 111 years in prison or something like that for what he did.

What is the un-holy trinity?
