well i got windows xp..
i want to partition my hard-drive (which i have done).... so i wanted to ask which linux is the best and also can some provide me with the link.. pliz

i suggest the live eval of knoppix for now, since you're new to linux. once you get familiar with KDE, move on to Mandrake, Redhat or Debian. And maybe, if you grow tired of linux and you become 1337, you can try BSD.
