Okay I want to create my own personal website. I plan on using Dreamweaver and Photoshop to design it. All I need to know is what is the best domain website to get my website name from that's cheap/expensive but reasonable. Is hosting where you put the code for your website, or is it a person who makes the website for you? I know it sounds like I don't know anything, but I just want to make sure I know what I'm talking about. Thanks in advance biggrin.gif

Good domain places that I know a lot of people tend to go with are: http://www.godaddy.com/
and http://www.namecheap.com/

As I posted in your other topic, you can't say hosting is where you put the code for your website and they don't make your website for you. You choose a place to get your domain hosted. Hosting basically hosts your site. Hosting allows you to create your site and where you will put your website codes (in html files of course) but yea. Heres a def :
QUOTE
Web site hosting (also known as hosting, Website hosting, Web hosting, and Webhosting) is the business of housing, serving, and maintaining files for one or more Web site.

You also have to pay for hosting, unless you find someone who hosts domains for free. (There are some out there). If you want to buy hosting I suggest you read this topic:
http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=112478

And you visit this forum and read reviews on any site before purchassing:
http://webhostingtalk.com/ (That site can also help you with your domain question)

I think the BBOR can help you out as well. :]
