Is it possible to take courses over the summer (like at a public high school or community college) to get the courses required to graduate.... a year early? I'm a Junior this year. I've already taken English I, II, and III; Geometry, Algebra I, Algebra II; Chemisty, Biology; and three years of Social Studies. And, I've taken a crap load of electives. I've looked online, but I cant seem to find alot of info on it.

And if it is possible, would it be a stupid idea? I go to a Christian private school, and my parents have already said that i'm NOT going back there next year. The school is crap to say the least. So I'd be a senior, at a new school. Paying at least $7,000 in tuition. I'd be a new kid in a new school... by the time I'd make new friends, the year would be over with. My parents have already said that I have to go to a Christian school... not for the religion, but to keep me out of the public school system. But the thing is, I'd be a Liberal, Democrat, and an Agnostic in a Conservative Christian school full of Republicans. So yeah. pinch.gif

And plus, I plan on going to a community college to be a nurse. And after being an RN, I'll move up to a University for a 4 year degree. So I'd get to start college and my life a year early, wouldnt have to worry about adjusting to a new school, and I'd save my parents $7000.

Good idea? Bad idea? Anyone ever heard of anyone doing that before? Should I just be a normal senior next year? LOL. ermm.gif

But you'll miss Senior Ball and all that good stuff!

My parents and I were actually talking about letting me skip a year of high school (freshman year) when I was in junior high. Never did it, but I guess high school is pretty short so it wouldn't make a difference. Next year (senior year) I only need to take 1 class...English, since they require four years. If I would have graduated early, then I would have taken English as a summer course.

Eh thats true. But, its not like we have a dance or anything. My school is against dancing lol. So we just eat and watch a video. Plus there's senior trip to DC, but they charge over 2k to go. And its not like I'm really close enough to anyone to enjoy it.

So are you just going to take English next year? Or other additional classes? Are students allowed to just take one course?

Nope, I'm going to fill up my schedule with extra math/science courses. And some lame elective...like Ceramics or something
