What, to you, is The American Dream? Do you think that it's realistic in today's society, or is it even more attainable now?

My American Dream involves being as stable as possible. I want to be secure with my position in life; I don't want to have to worry about paying off that house payment or if I'm going to afford my ride to work. Being stable means being able to stop thinking about myself and help others. With my family's current economic status (working class, but not struggling) I see my version of the American Dream as possible, but for those in poverty it depresses me how difficult that Dream would be to attain. According to the 2004 Census, someone who is in poverty needs to earn $8,000 a year just to get above the poverty line; but how are they supposed to earn that much when they're just struggling to survive? verymad.gif

To fulfill my goals, hold a job along with the family, finish my education and become who I want to be as for a job.
