Hmm, I suppose at this age I don't really get worked up over getting "asked out".. or really, it more or less doesn't happen. It's just a verbal agreement that we're exclusive now, rather than just dating.
However, for the sake of the topic (or perhaps thinking about the perfect proposal).. To me, the best time is when it feels right, and if it feels right NOW I'd rather that he doesn't put it off until a specific day. It holds more meaning that way knowing that he doesn't have to hold it in, and I'll be sure to remember it regardless.
