they HAVE to make their kids learn an instrument .. it'll be most likely a guitar or the piano. they'll have you playing golf as a sport rather than football/basketball. they're too strict about your school performances.

I don't think so. My parents didn't force to me to learn any type of instrument and i didn't bother to learn any myself either. When I had interest in learning the guitar/drums last year, and asked my parents if they'd pay for the tuition and such, they said no.
