they HAVE to make their kids learn an instrument .. it'll be most likely a guitar or the piano. they'll have you playing golf as a sport rather than football/basketball. they're too strict about your school performances.

my parents aren't like that. my dad actually doesn't want me taking up time to learn an instrument and he'd rather have me studying (but i don't.) i know plenty of parents who are like that though to my friends. it's kinda normal among the asian crowd. they think that this violin and piano stuff is good for your brain and everything.
