Have you ever looked for a word to describe something but couldn't find the right ones? I know it happens to me a lot, but this word got me thinking: "mamihlatanapai". The most succinct word in any language, it means "'Looking at each other hoping that the other person will do something that both parties want but neither is willing to do."
Personally, I think there needs to be a word for that feeling that slightly woozy feeling you get when the elevator reaches your floor. ![]() |

Queasy. Heh, I've never thought of that. It doesn't hit the spot exactly, bit pretty close.QUOTE What language is that? It's the Fuegian language of Argentina. I love that word. There should be a single word, not a group of words, but ONE word that describes that feeling you get when you're really into a book, and it ends the chapter at a cliffhanger, and then the bell rings, or you have to stop because it's the last chapter someone wrote on Quizilla or something...A group of words would be "on the edge of your seat and the rest of the theatre just exploded." ![]() |
