Well, I have read an article at http://mugglenet.com and I have become semi-convinced that Snape is portraying a facade to all but Dumbledore. I also agree that Dumbledore was not begging for HIS life in his death scene, but for Harry's (two brooms = Snape's not an idiot).

^only because of the unbreakable vow.
most likely, dumbledore knew about the unbreakable vow, and asked severus to do it so draco wouldn't have to. he knew draco wouldn't, which is why he was pleading for snape to kill him. |
