Eliminate Display Name |

I have a friend who has no display name above his pic. I'm not talking about just on his page, my layout is DIV so I pretty much have what I want there, I'm talking about on the actual contact lists of everyone else. This is him on my page homemyspace page:
(he's the one with no name above his pic)  I have googled all over for the answer here and one solution I could see is replacing the name with a picture (I have a clear 1x1 gif I can put there). But I can't get myspace to let me put that in the display name area. Plus they limit that area to 50 characters, so it can be challenging. I tried the regular <> codes and [] codes and ≶ codes. Can anyone help me out here??? |

and I tried to just leave the name blank, it doesnt work :( |
