So what do you people like to talk about with strangers? Like what kind of topics float around when you get to know someone new? Any age acceptable in the examples

Usually I only talk to someone if something about them catches my attention (i.e. they're reading a good book; they're wearing a t-shirt or hoodie from a really good band; or they're just playing DDR).. and whatever they're doing.. leads me to inquire more about the subject.
 Talking to strangers isn't all that fun, though.
