I have a rare diease called congenital anosmia, which basically means that I have had this since birth. Pretty much, I can't smell & I've never been able to. It is very rare, especially in girl, but I though it would be cool if I could find someone on here that had the same or a relating disease.

Oh man. I’m truly sorry. Why the disease does doesn’t allow you to smell?

Smelling is the best sense to detect health danger such as drug smoke, CO2, and expired foods.

Can this disease be treated?

Is it genetic?

No need to be sorry. I'm actually quite happy I have no sence of smell.
Yes. That is the one bad thing that I don't like about it.
I'm not really sure. When I was around the age of nine years, I had to go to a special doctor who treated these kinds of things. She said that I could possible outgrow it. She gave me some Flonase & sent me on my way. Not much of help at all, actually. I do beilieve that she mentioned some surgical procedure but didn't go into great detail about it. So I think it can be treated with the right equipment, but I think that it would be expensive & there would be a high risk of bad safety.
Some people think that it was genetic. My mom has searched our family tree in search of answers & there has been no record of anyone in our family not being able to smell, so I'm notsure in my case.
