Taken, but Ex Still Loves Me?, Blah. Options

So here's the deal. I've been going out with my current boyfriend for nearly two years and I love him very much. We tend to fight a lot, but we get over them quickly.

My ex and I had gone out some time before my current boyfriend. He was the first guy I fell in love with. After our break up, I totally tried to ignore him. Then later on, we became cool again. He became my close buddy and I would tell him my problems whenever my boyfriend and I would fight. I know that it was wrong for me to complain to him, but he said he wanted me to tell him whenever I had problems.

Things were going good. He had quite a bit of girlfriends after me and him broke up, but most of them cheated on him. He started to get more and more depressed. He started to say things like "Maybe I'm meant to be alone" or "I should just disappear." It started to worry me because he would talk suicidal. Then within the last few months, he's been telling me how I was the first girl he ever fell in love with and that I should still love him if I did love him before. I told him that I did love, just not that way anymore [like a love for a friend.]

Now, he constantly says "I love you." And he says it hurts to love me since I love someone else. He says it hurts to the point where he just wants to die. To him, it wouldn't matter to anyone. According to him, I'll be happier and I don't need to worry about him.

We sort of fought last night. He's been cutting himself A LOT. I saw it New Years Eve. X's all over his right hand [his knuckles and a big one in the middle] and a few on his other hand. And then when I talked to him last night over AIM he said he cut more and that he was losing a lot of blood. He keeps saying he's cold and going to die. The thing is, he's been making up lies for years on him dying [brain tumor, hole in his stomach, doctors says I only have 3 months to live]. The guy is kinda crazy. I want to consult someone for him, but he wouldn't go through it.

What do I do? I still care about him a lot, but I think he just wants me to break up with my boyfriend since he says that we fight too much and it's not meant to be. I will not break up with my current boyfriend. So I don't know what I can do to help him.

I can kind of see why he acts the way he does
if most of his girlfriends end up cheating on the guy.
Seems like he's somewhat more sensitive
and or has low self esteem from his
past relationships not working out..

Like miiichellley I agree with everyone
else who posted before me as well.
He needs professional help if he often inflict pain on himself.
He might just be saying this and doing all
this for attention, possibly from you..
But act quickly just in case it becomes an even more serious issue.

Yeah, I sorta think he wants me to feel sorry for him and then leave my bf for him.

But I won't. That's sort of how he gets most of his girlfriends. He gets them to feel sorry for them.

I would talk to his parents. but I wouldn't know how to get a hold of them and stuff. Or what would I say? Your son is in love with me and is hurtig himself because of it? I really don't know. -_-
