This is a question asked from many guys. And no, I'm not telling myself in 3rd person. If he likes a girl and has a crush on her, how should he approach her to have a good, loving relationship? Should he start out being friends with her or what? Talk to her? Greet? What are your thoughts?

I like to answer questions based on experiences fresh in my own mind, so here's a little story. I was interested in a nice young woman a few months back. We'd known each other for about a year and a half, and hung out on a pretty regular basis (just as friends). So I became interested. So one night, I went down to the newspaper where she worked as an editor, told her I had some important business to discuss, and asked her to dinner. Naturally she said yes.
Okay, so what's the point? Well, the best approach is just to ask. Don't worry about some elaborate plan: becoming friends, becoming better friends, or whatever. And don't think too much about the future: Don't worry about making it permanent. Just do it. Ask her out to dinner, a movie, to a local museum (if she's into that sort of thing), a local sporting event (again, if she's into that), or whatever. But just ask. As for making it more permanent... I don't know. Ask someone who's better at commitments. I'm a professional first-dater, but I know nothing about long-term relationships. |
