Christmas in school?

In my school you can't say/write Merry Christmas because it's a religious holiday. Plus you have Hanukkah and Kwanzaa. You can even get a detention. I was just wondering if other peoples' schools are this strict.

Yup, I'm in the U.S. And it's a public school.

I mean not all teachers agree with it (like the older ones) they won't attack you, but they warn you and just ask you to say Happy Holidays. That way no one gets offended.

Apparently Freedom of Speech doesn't exist. This is just like people arguing over saying God in the Pledge of Alligenice or having naviety scenes in front yards...
