Hi, yeah I have no idea how it happened...I'm thinking my sister had something to do with it. Well I think she was the one that deleted Microsoft Word's shortcut off the desktop, and I dont know how to get it back on there again. And I bet youre wondering how I get into Micosoft Word..I go to documents and open up one my old docs. I saved on Microsoft Word..and it opens the program up. But see, i dont wanna do that every time I need to use M.W. which is most of of the time since I'm writing papers for my classses. So does anyone know how to create shortcut to it? I know that you can make one from right clicking on the desktop and click on new > shortcut..but then it asks for me to browse for it..and i tried it but i cant find it on the comp. which is weird. I do have the program, since Im using it right now and it can open up but i just cant find a way to have a shortcut to it...anyone help, please?

^ Hey now, the person is anxious about getting help. How about cutting them a break?
I found this - QUOTE I had a problem with my MS Word so a friend reloaded MS WORKS & it is fixed, sort of. But now I don't have a shortcut to MS Word anymore, to open Word I have to open up MS Works Tasklauncher first & then click on NEW WORD DOC. I prefer having an icon in my start menu, but can't figure out how. Also, MS Word is not the default program anymore, now all my word docs open with MS Works Word processer instead, unless I use "open with" to specify Word. I want Word to be the default program, not Works word processor. QUOTE Do a search for WINWORD.EXE (could be in the Works Folder) and make a shortcut to it. Better still install TweakUI and add the shortcut to the "new" feature, and have Word available on the right click menu. How to get Shortcut to Word on Desktop I would have suggested going to: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\MS WORD, right click-> Send to Desktop (create shortcut), but it appears that you tried that and it didn't work. (At least I think that's what I read). |
