I have a particular distaste for poems. generally, i feel poetry is contrived and formulaic. of course there are brilliant ones, but too many crappy ones flood the literary world.

Well everyone has different tastes so yah.
To some people(if not all), writing poetry is an outlet for emotions. No matter how bad, how messy, how good or how touching one is, I think it should be respected. After all, reading a poem done by heart is like reading what is inside a person's heart. Shouldn't you feel privileged? I personally think poetry doesnt "suck". Just as much as other things I dislike don't suck. *shrugs* I write poems, and when I do, it's like putting me or my feelings into words. So I know that a poem is a work of art, and it should really be valued by readers. ![]() Sorry if that seemed cheesy. ![]() |
