Pretty sad day. I think it's pretty sad no one really remembers. Back then, that was their 9/11. Think of how we all felt then.
I guess because I'm such a WWII buff that it's important to me. I was watching a documentary where some Japanese vets met up with American vets and forgave each other. One guy met the same pilot who dropped a torpedo that destroyed his ship and nearly killed him. They shook hands and the Japanese guy said "I'm sorry." and was crying but the American said "No, don't be. It was a war between two nations and we were just soldiers. We were just doing our job." and he game him a hug. I thought that was pretty neat. But, yeah, it should never be forgotten. I honor all who fought and who died. |
