Promise Rings Options

How serious do you guys think Promise Rings are if you were to exchange them with your boyfriend/girlfriend? And how soon into a relationship would you exchange it?

Basically I'm asking what are the implications of exchanging Promise Rings....and the timing of it.

ah...promise rings.....

yeah they are pretty damn serious.
It's bascially the ring before the engagement ring.
And I mean, I think they are great.
But they can put a lot of pressure on the couple
Especially if they are young.

Giving someone a promise ring basically is the step before the engagement ring, so you have to be pretty serious with them.
As for timing, it differs with each relationship. Some people date for over 5 years, and aren't ready for marriage. Some couples date for a year and are walking down the aisle. But regardless, just be sure you are ready...I mean, promise rings are serious. You are seriously thinking of marrying that person, and i believe you gotta know them for a while before you make any sort of promise. Also, I think exchanging promise rings at such a n early age can be dangerous.....
