How serious do you guys think Promise Rings are if you were to exchange them with your boyfriend/girlfriend? And how soon into a relationship would you exchange it?
Basically I'm asking what are the implications of exchanging Promise Rings....and the timing of it. Thanks =] |

I have one, my boyfriend calls it our pre-engagement ring. He gave it to me kind of early, after 6 months of dating- but we went through a lot to be in our relationship. A lot of my friends said it was to early, but it was the first time he said i love you, so i knew we were serious. Besides we are going on our year and a half and have started saving up for our own place, so i know it was the right choice to accept it.
I have to agree with KielReese about being over 18 to exchange them. While a promise ring sounds kinda childish- they are a serious thing. Not many relationships last past high school into your adult lives. But as long as you love each other and it is a serious relationship i say go for it. Me and my boyfriend didn't exchange rings- he just gave me one....i guess i should buy him one. Oops. Here is a picture of my ring, just incase anyone was interested. Ring |
