Can you go out w/ someone younger than you? Options

Do you think its weird when a girl is going out with a guy a year younger? Cuz I like this guy but he's younger.

It depends, and here is a good example. If both you and your partner are out of high school even a 7 year age difference doesn't really matter. If your out of college and your partner is 7 years younger than you and still in high-school you might be taking on a real challenge. The problem I see is that you are both at different stages in life. In this situation if you are the older of the two people in the relationship you will find that you occasionally belittle your partner without even realizing it. You don't do it on purpose. The things that are old to you are new to them. You have been through the situations that they are beginning to face.

I'm 20 and Holly is 15, and there are definitely times when I f**k up... Just last night I was helping her with homework, and when I asked for help on mine I think she was a little worried about helping because I'm in college (She's really smart though). This is just one of many situations we run into because of our difference in age. Things like that take a little getting used too. Sometimes I feel like I might give a little to much insite on things and I feel like I'm being more of a DAD than a good boyfriend. She yells at more for it, and I really appreciate that because otherwise I would have no other way of practice my boyfriend skills.

I'm sure we have gone though more tough times than we realize due to the age differences we share. Really when it comes down to it, you just need to accept your partner for who they are and treat them as an equal. You won't get it right at first, you may never be perfect, but you can always get better through practice.

Although I'm in a relationship with someone who is younger than me and love them very much, I would suggest suggest against getting into a relationship with someone who is a different stage of life than you are. It's difficult, and at times it's tough to relate to them. There are good things that come out of it, but for most I'm sure the difficult times would out-weigh them. I suggest getting to know the person you're thinking about getting into a relationship with before even considering it. Also, make sure that you aren't the type that looks down on someone for their age (example: Seniors looking down on freshmen.). If you are the type of person that made fun of all the freshmen in high school... I would definitely suggest against it.

The BOTTOM LINE:
