is ther any way to do a color fade on psp.like from the top or diagnoally its the normal color but then it fades into black && white.

i need the color to fade,and like the way im doing it,doesnt look like its fading.like a gradient type but not with colors it just like the normal color of the picture,and then it fades into black and white.ive checked every website on tutorials but they dont show how to.
