Well to start off, I've been around the block. I have had three serious relationships each lasting a year in the past four years now, and now I'm dating my best friend from two years ago.
When I was single, she had a boyfriend; when she was single, I had a girlfriend. Now after all this waiting we got what be both wanted, to be together. BUT things aren't going as smooth as it should, rather unpredictably. Our relationship is more physical then verbal in my opinion, and second we hardly talk. I mean, I guess thats what most men want in a relationship, but for me it's not what I want. I want to talk to her more, I want to be with her more, and I want to get to know her more. Sometimes, all I want to do is cuddle with her while we just talk throughout the day or night. But no... it's make out sessions after another. To her, I guess thats some way to fill out the long gap of time not seeing each other. Oh, and from a religious perspective I'm Christian and she's atheist. And no, we haven't had sex, and I'm not planning on it... so sometimes our thoughts collide with each other. Since she's a science person and I'm a person studying theology. Also, another thing I want to address is that I'm in college, she's still a senior in high school. So the maturity level sometimes doesn't balance as well. As you can see from a Korean perspective, I'm her oppa and she's my dongseng. Now, I have a college friend who's really close to me. I connect with her more, I talk to her more, for Pete's sake I talk to her every night. She's doing music ministry while I'm doing youth ministry/accounting. I'm starting to develop feelings which are getting stronger for her which I know is wrong since I do have a girlfriend. I respect her a lot, she respects me a lot. As of right now, I'm having thoughts of breaking up with my girlfriend, and remaining single until I sort out my thoughts, but I would like your opinion on all of this. I'm sorry for this rant, but it's really frustrating me. Thank you. |

Okay well I finally confronted her about it, and decided that we should take time away from each other until we get our thoughts and lives straightened out. I try talking to her, she's never on or available... so basically to me it feels one sided. On top of that, she's always doing something when I talk with her, giving me only half the attention that I deserve. All this is given in a relationship, give your person 100 percent undivided attention... but she seemed to have an issue with that for a while now. I also felt as though she was avoiding me, and even while I confronted her about it it didn't seem as though she really cared. Right away after our conversation, she changed her marital status to single basically telling the whole world she's free?
Also, she's been seeing a long time friend... more than me. Funny how she gives him her full attention and leaves me as a backup feeling. I'm getting closer and closer with my other friend, but we decided that a relationship isn't worth it since we both have work to do. Thanks for all your advice, it helped me well. <3 |
