I read this book called 'Nothing but the truth, and a few white lies' and in the book there's this girl that's part Taiwanese & White because her mom married a white guy. Anyhow, the girl didn't like that she was half n' half cuz she felt that she wasn't fully a part of anything. Her friend in the book said that she was crazy because hapas are very pretty/exotic looking and that she has nothing to worry about.
Are there any 'hapas' here that feel the same way? Or feel that it's better being half n' half? Or get complimented on your looks or whatnot? I'm just asking because I've seen some models that are half n' half and they're really pretty.  Just curious, that's all.

It's an issue that's still being debated. And there's a difference between being Chinese and being Taiwanese. Sure, most Taiwanese people speak Mandarin, but there is a Taiwanese dialect that sounds totally different. A lot of my Taiwanese friends get pissed off when someone calls them Chinese. |
