DIV alignment

I'm currently using two DIV's, one is a navigation system and the other is just where I will post blogs and things like that. How do I get them next to each other? Placing two div's in the css makes one below the other. I don't want that, i want them next to each other. Thankss

Or even better, make them float using the CSS float: property.
