How does one reduce the spacing between a friend's comment, and the friend's MySpace link image? Also, is it possible to reduce the size of that friend image in the comment box?

Could you possibly explain to me what that code does? Sorry to be annoying; I just want to understand code, not just use it when I need it and forget it when I don't. I'll be one less person to have to help if I understand how it works.
