how do i make an image transparent so if i put it on any background the part is the color of the background

Just trace around that part that you want to keep, and delete the original background. You should see small grey and white squares for the area which was originally the background. Then just save the picture and you can insert any background colour you like for the "grey and white squares" part (actually, it means that part is transparent).
