scannerr Options

This topic has a lot of good scanners (and also good suggestions, reading from its replies ), but there has been problems.

My current scanner, McAfee, came with my computer. Anyway, a few days ago, my friend was downloading junk and my computer caught some trojans. Yes, more than one. It said that it wasn't able to delete or even clean it. Now it says that my trial has expired for McAfee.. even though it came with my computer. I don't get that part.

Anywho, I've tried a lot of good scanners (as I've said) but to get to my point, the problems I've experienced are:

- Needing to REGISTERRRRR to be able to delete.
- Only able to find adware (I think for this, I might've downloaded an adware remover instead XD)
- Not able to detect the virus.

Is there any solution to this? xD I feel so noob asking this. Stupid computer. -.-

They don't get everything though.. Just today, I was going through my files and found a notepad document with my old email addresses in it.. Must have been why there was so much spam. =/

You should get a firewall too. They usually can block trojans and malware.

Your trial expired because you only have a certain number of days you can get updates from McAfee. I use Norton AntiVirus and when my trial expired, I could stil scan and remove viruses that it had definitions of.

McAfee probably wasn't able to remove the trojans because your definitions are out of date. There's no way to fix that unless you're willing to subscribe to McAfee.
