i don't think there's a topic on this...
i've always felt that your expectations for yourself are always going to be more then for friends. in this case, weight. some of my friends say they're fat, and i dont think they are. but when i look at myself (and i know i'm skinnier then them) i think I'M fat. it makes me feel hypocritical, because it's like *i* have to be really skinny to be pretty, while my friends don't. maybe it's just perception? discuss maybe? ![]() |

I think it's just something that we do and don't really notice it a lot. Well, we don't notice when our friends who are bigger than us get annoyed.
I'm not blaming the media, but I think it has a good bit to do with the average woman's insecurities. I mean open a magazine and the women are like 5'7 90lbs. But the reason we react to our friends who say negative things about themselves is probably because we care about them. When you care about someone you look beyond that and so I guess in a way you don't like them saying bad things about themselves. ![]() ...Ok, my rant is over. |
