Do you think we should have a national holiday on 9/11 ?
Then .. have a parade on the street to remember the terror of 9/11. |

I don't think so. I don't really even agree with the day being called patriot day.
People should be allowed to morn & remember the way they see fit. Why is it needed to declare it a holiday { a day of festivity or recreation when no work is done } . |

Why is it needed to declare it a holiday { a day of festivity or recreation when no work is done } . Because, although it was a horrible day and so many lives were taken away, it marks a turning point in American unity. That day is remembered as a time our nation stayed strong, stuck together, mourned together, and came together under a terrorist attack. Although so many people blame the attack on blah blah blah foreign policy blah blah blah stupid G.W. Bush blah blah blah... 6 years ago, when this occured, patriotism really rose in America and people supported their country. Even though I don't agree with some of America's policies and/or leadership... I still think that as an American, I have an allegiance to my country. If we don't stick together, then we fall apart and that makes us weak. A national remembrance day would appropriate to 1) mourn the people we lost in the 9/11 attacks and 2) remind us that as a nation, unity is key. |
