Do you think we should have a national holiday on 9/11 ?


Then .. have a parade on the street to remember the terror of 9/11.

Why think of it as the terror? Why not celebrate the courage and strength of many?

I think a parade would be a bit much, it should be a holiday. Like National Remembrence Day or something of the sort.

Exactly.

The way I see it, September 11th marks the day when people's lives were taken away, but it's also a day to remember their lives, their achievements, and celebrate the fact that they got to experience the pain and joy of life. Also, I think that a holiday would mark their family member's courage to move past the fact that their loved one is gone and to, in a sense, live life for the ones who have died.

Almost like the quote:

He noted that first came her date of birth
And spoke the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all
was the dash between those years

I dunno if that made sense, but my thought are kind of scattered about this topic.
