Hey what's up guys, well basically I have Windows XP with a Pentium 4 2.5GHz CPU and 992 MB of RAM

The problem I'm currently having is that when I drag images within Photoshop, the CPU usage shoots up, and there's been a few times that my PC just freezes. Right now Photoshop is installed onto my Primary drive, the C:

But I have a 200HD, and I only used up 6GBs as of now.

What exactly is causing my PC to freeze? Oh and by the way, I just re-installed my Windows XP so basically it's running as fast as possible since I don't have useless crap on my hard drives anymore.

The one and only thing I can think of... is the paging file. The total paging file size for all drives is 1488MB. Is there any tweaking of any sort that I can do? I'm seriously not lookin forward to doing any upgrades to my PC... I just recently replaced both my RAM sticks with two 512s.

What do you think I should do?

How is his Computer Processor Shit? It's a 2.5 Pentium 4. Thats still pretty fast, it can run any of the new games that are on the market, including fear or Prey.

His video card is also good enough to run Photoshop. I have a crap builtin Intel one on this card and I can run Photoshop and Imageready just fine.

Explain this to me, what do you mean dragging images? Maybe If I understood what your were doing and what the problem was, I can help you.

yes his processor is crap cuz he doesnt have dual AMDs like i do...and every single goddamn vid card made since a long time ago has been good enough to run photoshop, integrated GPUs can run photoshop so i dont know what ur talking about
so i must be cool~

i think its either a virus or ur CPU's messed up

you're prabably correct.
tama's system is pretty up to date; but if you just reformated it, how can you get a virus?

maybe your cpu is broken, heatsink's not working, too hot in the case, ect...
