I'm interested, how old are you and what kinds of fanfictions do you read? Do you think it's immature? |

Yeah. The only fanfics I've ever read were BtVS ones, though. I actually even write some fanfic. It's not immature, depending on why you write it. Some people just write to live out some weird plot or sexual fantasy of theirs. Others write it because they love the characters. It's kind of an outlet,... you have characters that you love (even if you didn't develop them) and you put them in different situations or put them in an entirely different world, etc. As a writer, I think it's a little bit limiting because you're using pre-made characters, but whatever.
I've turned a lot of my fanfics into original fics, because I've found that the more you write, the further away you drift from the famous character that everyone knows and the more you start creating an original personality that you make for the character. |
