Is it better to try and fail, or to never have tried? A simple enough question, but it comes down to it, how many of us can admit that we're too afraid of failing to ever try?

Try and fail is popular and is probably the right thing to do most of the time. But I'm going to pose something on you guys: Is there a situation where its better to do the opposite? Would the Spice Girls still be successful if the decided to not try to become solo artists and fail?
