Is it just me or does selfishness get you know where...People have the right to be selfish...but how far will you go...for those who are greedy and selfish for money they may have a lot (of money) but who are they going to share it with people who they don't tend to care for or have a personal relationship because they were too busy making the money

I don't know about you but i'm a born again christian and soemtimes i become selfish and don't want to listen to God but that doesn't get me very far...Everytime i look back and say i should have listened....and when i do listen i might not see the benefits at first but they revealed later...rather than blowing up in my face

Where has your selfishness got you (Good or bad)?

Ok, liz... I know you are a christian so... God commands people to love everyone. How about this? when God says to love everyone are we excluded? God wants us to love ourselves also. Loving ourself doesn't mean giving ourselves what we want or doing what we want. Loving yourself is doing whats best for yourself. Doing what you need to do rather than what you want to do. Often times people can't see what is best for them, because they are so mixed/wraped up in what they want. They don't even know what's best for themselves anymore. This goes both ways too. Sometimes people get confused in what's best for them. They make an attemt to be so selfless that they miss out on what's best for them, and end up doing stupid things to themselves or the people around them.

Love is never what it seems. I havn't completely thought out this subject yet... I like how you asked the question... I was accually thinking about this when I woke up this morning. I came to the computer, and it was crazy that you popped the question. Keep asking weird questions like this. I love thinking about them.

well my theory is that being selfish makes you feel good about yourself. it's sort of like when someone breaks up with you.. you have "comfort food." and also, you're afraid that if you aren't selfish, people will get ahead of you and maybe even succeed or get famous. but then it could also be that because everything is so perfect, you tend to be selfish because you don't want the perfection to end? that's what i think.
and by the way,
i watch too much tv. oro.gif

Well, that's all true! Being selfish does make you feel good about yourself... for a time... but if all you do is think about your own wants. You will never realize what true perfection really is...
