Or something like that. ![]() Well, 'An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth', you know what that means, right? Well, if everybody was trying to get revenge that way, then nobody would have 'teeth' anymore because they were all taken away as revenge. I think that's just a way of making the quote sound negative. |

Well, 'An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth', you know what that means, right? Well, if everybody was trying to get revenge that way, then nobody would have 'teeth' anymore because they were all taken away as revenge. I think that's just a way of making the quote sound negative. That's not entirely true. That quote comes from Mesopotamia (I think Old Babylon, but I could be wrong). It's the "eye for an eye" law. For instance - if someone beat you up, they would cut off his hand, or something like that. |
