I know some gay people and I act like they are normal people. You just act like they're normal people?? I hate how we're grouped apart from all the rest of humanity, like our sexual preference defines us as something not human. we're here. we're human. we love. GET OVER IT. I think its great that you're still going to be friends with him. sexual preference does not define a person any more than skin color, hair color, or favorite food does. until we can see all people as people, not black people, white people, asian people, gay people or straight people, there will never be equality in this world. We need to stop making distinctions among us and realize that all these things we use to group ourselves is merely seperating us and destroying any hope of equality. |

We need to stop making distinctions among us and realize that all these things we use to group ourselves is merely seperating us and destroying any hope of equality. ITS AWKWARD FOR US TO BE AROUND GUYS WHO LIKE GUYS OR GIRLS WHO DIG GIRLS. It's awkward becuase you ARE different from us. ITS A FACT. we like the oposite sex and you like same sex. I don't hate you or discriminate you(you aren't a race). As people you deserve equal rights, but i still believe homosexuality is wrong. heres why, i quote from a debate i have been having: i was raised in the belife that homosexuality is immoral. i can agree to dissagree with you and acid bath slayer. neither of you have "proven anything". the only thing you can do is sway what other people belive and do not believe. I can exlpain why homosexuality is believed a moral sin in the christian religion: - Lev 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it [is] abomination. It is anamobination to the lord, and here was the penalty: - Lev 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood [shall be] upon them. Now, of course this is the old testament. so we can't just jump the gun on this. The rules change in the new testament, becuase jesus is born and dies and the gap between man's sin and God's kingdom is broken. We have to look at some new testament verses. - Romans 1:24-27 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. God gave people up the their passions... meaning... they went to hell. He let them follow their own path, and they didn't choose what he had commanded. This is a letter from pual to the curch in rome. At the time chirstians in the church of rome were lost in sexual sin. Romans back then had alot of sex... tons... like, it was nuts... so paul had to wright about it telling them what God had told him what was right and what was wrong. there are other verses in the blble other than these, but they require more understanding of the scriptures. From a biblical stand piont, God made men to be with women and women to be with men. He aparently considers it to be an abomination for men to use their bodies the wrong way. The bible does not command us to hate homosexuals. We shouldn't have a problem with them doing their thing. There are some religous sections of the christian church that interprate the bible to say that homosexuality is ok. Yes, this is very plausible... It's also not an essencial part of the christian religion. The most important thing is that you love Jesus> if you love Jesus(God)> you will obey his word and keep his commandments to the ebst of your ability. Interpreting the scripture is important when you want to obey him, becuase if you don't you won't know what he says about the many different topics that come up all arounf you. Look if you truley belive that loving Jesus is being a homosexual. Then thats fine. Personally, for me loving Jesus is choosing to believe that it's not ok. I will not risk interpreting the scripture the wrong way. It's better to not do it at all than to find out that its wrong when I try get to heaven. why take the risk of doing something that could be so wrong that i could goto hell. Plus, I love women I have a beautiful girl friend that I love. The bible does not say to hate homosexuals, but the bible does give the impression that homosexuality is a sin. Some may interpret the bible differently, but as for me homosexuality is a moral sin. I will continue to respect homosexuals, but i believe that they are risking the chance of going to hell for their own sexual desires. I beleive that people become homosexuals base upon the environments that they grow up in. the bible says: - Pro 22:6, Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. This doesn't refer to just children it goes for anyone. Your environment is want trains you as a person. Your parents, your friends, your co-workers, your teachers... pretty much anyone or anything you respect will have an influence on your opinion training you to become to person that you will be. So, in some ways homosexuality is not chosen. even from a biblical prospective. dont flip sh*t, your not going to convince me otherwise... I still care about them as people and I care about their feelings but I believe that the act of homosexuality is utterly wrong |

I still care about them as people and I care about their feelings but I believe that the act of homosexuality is utterly wrong Our sexual preference does not define us. We have differences, but all people do. That's like saying that favorite food, favorite color, or favorite song will define a person. and yes, dipsh*t, it is discrimination even if we aren't a race. just because someone likes members of the same sex that DOES NOT mean that they like EVERY MEMBER of the same sex. should homosexual girls be afraid of you thinking that you'll have sexual feelings for every single one of them? Don't flatter yourself. Gay guys aren't likely to have sexual feelings for you. You obviously use religion against homosexuality. Now, since you're apparently the expert in matters of the bible, I'd like you to clarify a few things for me... Lev. 25:44 clearly states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians? I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself? Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev.19:27. How should they die? I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves? My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev. 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them (Lev.24:10-16)? Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14) Since you are such an expert in these matters, I felt I could turn to you for help. (source - http://forum.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseact...8E97A624545076) |

(source - http://forum.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseact...8E97A624545076) Well, i am pretty well versed in this topic accually... many of the old testament rules and laws were lets say canceled out, becuase jesus died on the cross, and made amends for those things. Many of the rules in the old testament only applied to those times at which they were givin. The jews were gods children, and therefore at the time they were more important. They could not enslave eachother, but they could enslave other cultures. When jesus died on the cross, all men were allow to enter heaven becuase he had died for their sin. The sabbath rule was set appart, becuase god wanted his people to obey his rules. This DEATH sentance does not apply today. The hair was a symbol of gods children.. People who cut there hiar in the fassion described above were associated with another pagan religion durring that time period. Today this does not apply. Religious gruops today do not separate themselves by cutting their hair a certain way. The pig skin thing, was ruled out in the new testament when god told peter 'R'ise, Peter; kill, and eat.' (Acts 10:13) in a dream where a white cloth was laid before him containing the meat of the suposed unclean animals that many jewish poeple still do not touch today. and as for your uncle... just another rule god set aside for the israelites... XD READ THE NEW TESTAMENT, if you want i can give you some verses from the new testament about homosexuality |

XD READ THE NEW TESTAMENT, if you want i can give you some verses from the new testament about homosexuality I know I'm a little late responding, but I'm responding anyways. my point was exactly what you pointed out. the bible is outdated. things change. people become more enlightened. I'm not christian. I dont believe in your bible anyways. It's a work of fiction. it should be treated as such. but if you're going to throw religious writings in my face, I'll throw writings from my religion in yours. "Be true in love, this you must do unless your love be false to you." "An ye harm none, do what ye will" now I ask you, what's so wrong with love? what do I hurt by loving my girlfriend? and if, to be true in my love, I feel the need to express it in a physical way, who am I hurting? I'm showing love, something this world so desperately needs |
