Often times I feel as if my parents, more so my mother, say things and do things just to show me examples of how I "should" act. I find this annoying because how can they expect me to follow them if they don't believe in what they're saying themselves? Sometimes she'll be talking to someone on the phone and I'll be in the next room and she'll speak up louder so that I hear something she's saying. Something like "That's why you shouldn't have sex before marriage." or some other bit of "wisdom" she has. It really annoys me. Sometimes I think they pull out the Bible in front of my sister and me to show us they're doing a good job following God. I'll go in the living room, one of them will start reading the bible and as soon as I leave they put it away. Little things like that happen a lot.
So, what do you think? Do your parents ever do things like this? |
