a good amount of the sugestions aren't punk
 and a good amount are good are also good... but i'd say The Clash Ramones Sex Pistols Anti-Flag Pinhead Gunpowder The Lookouts Sreeching Weasel Rancid Transplants Operation Ivy (they are kind of ska, but nonetheless very good) Buzzcocks Hüsker Dü Black Flag Alkaline Trio Green Day (more oldschool though) Dead Kennedys Social Distortion The Germs The Offspring Bad Brains Misfits Stiff Little Fingers The Queers Bloodhound Gang I'm drawing a blank I know there's more but I hope this helps for now
