When was anything not a popularity contest?


I'm not sure who I want to win or anything. I hope I'll be able to catch it either way, I like watching the performances.

Where does it say that the viewers are voting this year and there isn't a "Viewer's Choice"? I know that the latter is definitely wrong because this is the full list from MTV.
