when you put on eye liner does it really make your eyes look smaller if you only put it on the bottem?

It really depends. If you have deep set, larger eyes, then eyeliner looks fine. It's not as overwhelming.
But say, if you're Asian and have more of a flat eye socket area, and the crease is less prominent and less of the eye is exposed, a full eye of liner is much too overwhelming. Yes, it will make the eye look smaller. Just think about the optical illusions you've seen as a kid. I remember one where they show a black circle on a white background, and then a white circle on a black background. It asks you to choose the one that's bigger. Most everyone chooses the white circle, even if the circles are the exact same size. Makeup is all about optical illusions. I, for one, look like a whore if I put too much eyeliner on the bottom. Looking like a whore = no no. Better to use eyeliner on the top lashline in a high concentration in order to create the illusion of a thicker lashline, which will open your eyes more. That's just me. I just think that overusage of eyeliner looks like you're trying too hard. It's a bit too made-up for daytime. |
