the idea is poor.
it would be far less managable for mods, and the system we have works for the most part, and is evidentl yin need of repair and not replacement. stop being sensationalist. and the title here is SCREAMING for correction. |

it would be far less managable for mods, and the system we have works for the most part, and is evidentl yin need of repair and not replacement. i agree. i did change something that might ease the problem a bit. be warned however that it does not solve it. for everyone's information, whenever a layout is submitted, the server processes not only the screenshot but also looks for any images in the layout code to upload to the image server. the problem occurs when the images are too big, the image urls from the layout code are broken, of the images from the layout code reside in a server that is too slow. so next time you get an error, you should try these three things: - optimize the images in your layout code to jpegs, gifs, or pngs. - make sure the images in your layout code are valid. - upload images that are used in your layout code to a faster server. dont worry about bandwidth, since everything will be uploaded to one of cb's image servers and the public layout code will never point to the original location of the images. in the meantime, i take a another stab at it and think of an alternative solution when i work on createblog v4. |
